Coaching is a skillful approach to change that does not necessarily need to include a client’s spiritual orientation or practise. But what if this is an important aspect of the client’s life that they feel needs some love and attention? I believe that coaching works well when the gut, heart, mind and spirit are all involved in the conversation. How a client thinks is important but also important is how a client feels, what is in their heart and soul that needs to be brought to the conversation. What I wanted to develop was a coaching approach that embraced the skills of the classic coaching approach with a more spiritual approach. Over the years I developed a model that I now call Spiritual Intelligent Coaching or SIC. This approach can be used overtly with more spiritual clients who are looking to include their spiritual orientation and practise in the coaching conversation. Spiritual Intelligence Coaching is an approach that includes: . * An appreciation of “intention, consciousness, energy and vibration.” * Conversations that work with your conscious mind, both their analytical left-brain and their imaginative-intuitive right-brain. * Conversations that work with your unconscious mind that communicates through metaphor, stories and symbols. * Conversations that work with your higher conscious mind that deals with multidimensional time-lines, past and future selves, energy and light, connection to spirit guides, higher purpose, and synchronicity. * Conversations that work to dissolve the so called blocks that you may experience. These are blocks that exist at a metaphorical and energy level within your consciousness and energy field. * Conversations that work to expand a sense of possibility within your map or model of reality. Once your internal model is expanded the outer reality tends to shift and align with these inner changes. * Conversations that work to pull out your dreams and values, the ones you get enthused about and are willing to take action on. * Conversations that help to embed simple and useful strategies to help you move elegantly in the direction of your heart. * Conversations that embrace the concept of flow. This is based on the principle that flow is better than struggle and suffering. Flow is the zone where miracle-mindedness and synchronicity happen. . To me SIC is a coaching approach that is conversational rather than overtly filled with techniques. I find that the conversation breaks if I say to a client now I am going to take you through a certain technique. It is great to have a toolkit of techniques and these can all be used conversationally in my experience. For instance it is not necessary to have a client close his or her eyes in order for them to visualise something. It is quite easy to get them to imagine things in their minds eye through simple conversation. SIC is an approach that can help a coach enhance their classical skills and at the same time embrace a more spiritually integrated approach to coaching. SIC is not about promoting any set of belief or faith. It is inclusive rather than exclusive. Finally SIC is an approach that is about helping you (and your clients) make lasting change, align with your heart and higher mind and move forward in a direction that will bring you a sense of flow and happiness. Personal Coaching can help you assess where you are and where you want to be. Flow coaching can help you connect with your true gifts and talents, see the bigger picture, inspire you to connect and actualise your highest values and vision, help you see what is working and not working in your life and create the space where you can evaluate your choices and your overall direction. This form of coaching will help you: * Connect and engage your intuition and imagination; * Know how and when to release patterns, situations and people from your life; * Identitfy your path of least resistance to where you want to go; * Uncover your gifts and talents for being successful in what you want to do; * Clear your resistance to moving forward; * Break down a needed action into smaller more easily actionable chunks; * Get clearer on your values and beliefs around a particular area of your life; * Expand your self-image of being and doing and of what is possible; * Be more in the flow of your higher good; * Focus on what you want and what you love.
